A message from Tim Merritt, the founder of the Unity
Wall
Divorce spawns intense emotions. Writing
down my feelings helped me get through it. I deeply believe
that this may help many of you. And I know that our combined
voices will help bring about change in this country. Not
just changes in the laws, but more importantly, the changes
of the heart that are so bitterly needed.
I have also been asked to sign online petitions.
When I did, I often felt unsure about what I was signing
or who was running the program. You don't have to worry
about that with the Unity Wall. Of course we are going
to get your message to your Senators, but what is really
important, is that the Unity Wall is a place where you
matter, and your story matters.
You may not feel like sending something
so personal to your Senators, and that's why a pre-written
letter is available for you to use instead. Your name,
address and other information are required to send any
email to your Senators. Your privacy will always be protected.
But the fact that researchers can search though the list
of names and stories that appear on the Wall make it a
powerful tool for those who will research the underlying
causes and concerns of those sacrificed to the divorce
industry.
So if you are feeling rage, vent it here.
If you despair, find relief here. If you or someone you
love has been hurt, shout the wrongness of it to the world
here. It is important. You are important.
You've got a limit of 500 words. You are
responsible for the things you say, not me. If you've been
told you are not supposed to talk about your case, don't
talk about it. Use your head. There is no room for pictures,
but hyperlinks are fine. If you use them, do me a favor
and put a link from your site back to the Unity Wall.
Come back as often as you like. You are
not alone, and you are always welcome. No one can hear
you if you don't speak out. The power of the Wall is not
in its agenda, but in its united voice.
The Unity Wall is a public forum to protest
the child support laws of this country. The Unity Wall
does not endorse or approve the views or opinions expressed
by contributors.
