Our home was 2/3 paid for, and my ex received 100 percent of the equity in the home. She ended up with 70 percent of our assets. I get reverse visitation during the summer for eight weeks, and still have to pay the full 20 percent child support during this time frame. I am basically renting my son for those times. Imagine the feeling of sending hundreds of dollars to your EX spouse, while your child is under your care. I was told this was fair by the appellate court because I had a degree and good income potential. My ex made almost as much as me for all of our eight years of marriage. In other words, college and hard work became a noose around my neck, not a benefit. Thanks to the idiocy of the Illinois judiciary, my son lost 3-4 years of good fathering while I battled this lunacy in the courts. The worst part about this is not the money, its the fact that the judiciary saw me as nothing more than a paycheck, not a father. I was financially and emotionally raped by the Illinois judiciary.
