Apr. 11th, 2006:
Apologies

By Tim Merritt

I would like to apologise to everyone who has submitted their stories to the Wall over the last few months.

I haven't been able to update them and add them as I would have liked because I have been called to Active Duty for training in preparation for a deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

When I finally caught up with my Unity Wall commitments, I was deeply moved by the stories that were submitted while I was away.

I felt terrible because I remember that when I was alone and grieving, I felt that there was no one out there to hear me. No out there who cared about what I was going through...

That's why I designed the Unity Wall. I mean, I can't fix the laws of this country by myself, and I can't be there for each of you when you are hurting. So, I feel strongly that I at least ought to maintain this sacred place on behalf of everyone who is suffering from the child support laws.

I promise to try to be more diligent in the future.
